Google Cloud Messaging support for IBM Traveler for Android clients

This version of the IBM Traveler server can now use Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) for real timepush notifications to keep your Mail, Calendar, Contact and To Do data on your IBM Traveler forAndroid clients up to date. Expanded Domino server support

This version of the IBM Traveler server can now be installed on 3 different base Domino servers:
  • IBM Domino 8.5.3 with Upgrade Pack 1 installed (excluding IBM Traveler for iSeries)
  • IBM Domino 9.0
  • IBM Domino 9.0.1

In the past, the IBM Traveler server could only have been installed on the latest Domino release.But now the IBM Traveler installer is able to detect which of the above Domino versions the IBMTraveler server is being installed onto, and install the appropriate binary files for that version.There are some limitations when running on a Domino 8.5.3 server versus a Domino 9.0.1, and therecommendation is to install the Traveler server on a Domino 9.0.1 server to gain access to thelargest set of Traveler server features.

Also, after running a manual NSD by navigating through the path “Windows Start button” ⇒ “IBM Applications” ⇒ “Support” ⇒ “Collect IBM Notes diagnostic data and exit Notes” will not enable to get manual NSD. You will be allowed to collect NSD by running nsd.exe. However, the data file would not be completed.

  • Use Notes 9.0.1 FP8 instead of 9.0.1 and wait until you are allowed to upgrade to FP10 IF6
  • Run Lotus Notes in Basic mode
  • Exit the IBM Notes. Copy Notes JVM Folder from the multi-user installation that is working over the JVM folder already existing and restart the Notes
  • Exit Notes. Delete the JVM Folder and allow to CMS push the client again to the same machine. Once it gets completed, start the Notes again to check whether it is working fine or not
